Our Story Begins In The East

In 1944, our founder, Yatoshi Yamamoto cooked food for a POW camp. As he went on with his daily cooking, he realized that the Americans did not particularly enjoy his traditional Japanese cooking. Yamamoto talked with a high ranking prisoner, named Noah, and he told Yamamoto to start cooking Chinese food as it was widely enjoyed. Yamamoto did as he was told and when the war was over he started a restaurant here in Woodbury Minnesota. Today, Noah's Dojo looks a little bit different. We have updated our restaurant to have a modern, yet classical look which appeals to a majority of the people we serve.
